Lead Enterprise Architect

BWI's Enterprise IT Architecture & Portfolio unit is looking for several experienced Lead Enterprise Architects. The role covers reference architectures, architecture principles and strategic target pictures, as well as providing expert guidance to projects. Full-time, nationwide at BWI locations, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Own the content of reference architectures, including their dependencies, priorities and interrelations
  • ▹Create reference architectures and architecture principles (APAV) in cooperation with colleagues from the neighbouring department
  • ▹Support projects, solution and service developments within EPDF, for example service charters, APAV tailoring, architecture decisions, and service and solution descriptions
  • ▹Own the architecture share in creating strategic target pictures
  • ▹Act as the interface to the customer together with EAP elements and account management to ensure an aligned approach
  • ▹Translate strategic target pictures and reference architectures into IT landscape planning and hand them over to colleagues in the neighbouring department for operational detailing
  • ▹Align cluster programmes with the overall strategic architecture and strategic target pictures
  • ▹Give expert approval of strategic artefacts (reference architectures, APAV) and of deviations from architecture guidelines in architecture review discussions
  • ▹Work with colleagues within EAP to develop architecture and planning processes methodically

Requirements

  • ▹Completed IT-related degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable STEM field, or an equivalent completed vocational training
  • ▹At least 6 years of relevant experience as an enterprise or solution architect
  • ▹Broad, cross-technology IT knowledge and specialised knowledge in at least one of the following areas: ERP, cloud, AI, data management, tactical IT (for example GMN) or networks
  • ▹Very good knowledge of architecture management tools (for example ARIS, SPARX EA) and architecture frameworks (for example TOGAF or NAF)
  • ▹Experience communicating and working with middle and top management
  • ▹Independent work and methodical, economical, solution-oriented thinking and action
  • ▹Fluent German and good English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience in the customer environment of the armed forces or public authorities, and knowledge of portfolio management
