Windows Patching & Automation Engineer

Test Automation Engineer • Remote • Full-time • European Union Latin America, EU/EMEA

Blueprint Technologies is seeking an engineer to support patching, antivirus and vulnerability compliance across a large, distributed Windows server environment. The role requires PowerShell scripting, automation and strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Write, maintain and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for patch deployment, diagnostics, remediation and reporting
  • ▹Support monthly Windows security patch rollouts, antivirus and .NET updates
  • ▹Investigate Windows update and MSU installation failures using event logs, CBS logs, installer logs and error codes
  • ▹Analyze logs and telemetry across multiple systems to find failure patterns and blockers
  • ▹Use Kusto Query Language (KQL) to investigate deployment results and monitor patch and vulnerability compliance
  • ▹Verify installed updates, packages, OS and runtime versions
  • ▹Build, validate and publish patching components and packages with safe deployment practices across rings
  • ▹Maintain dashboards, monitoring and compliance reporting
  • ▹Coordinate with partner teams to resolve exceptions and blockers

Requirements

  • ▹Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and automation, including writing, modifying and debugging scripts
  • ▹Understanding of PowerShell's object-based pipeline and common filtering methods such as Where-Object
  • ▹Strong debugging and troubleshooting across multiple systems using logs and telemetry
  • ▹Working knowledge of Windows update mechanisms
