Senior Database Engineer (AWS/GCP), 100% Remote

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Create, configure and maintain database environments
• ▹Administer PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, TimescaleDB and Firestore platforms
• ▹Manage backups, recovery and service continuity
• ▹Monitor systems and resolve incidents
• ▹Manage users, roles and permissions
• ▹Define and apply security policies
• ▹Implement data governance best practices
• ▹Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries
• ▹Identify and resolve bottlenecks
• ▹Continuously monitor and improve database performance
• ▹Design and develop stored procedures, triggers and materialized views
• ▹Automate operational tasks with Python and Bash
• ▹Manage the schema lifecycle using Alembic
• ▹Administer database services on AWS and Google Cloud Platform
• ▹Deploy and operate containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes
• ▹Take part in modernization and technology migration projects
• ▹Migrate data between different platforms and technologies
• ▹Design migration strategies and integrity validation
• ▹Take part in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

Requirements

• ▹Solid experience administering relational and NoSQL databases
• ▹Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL
• ▹Advanced knowledge of MySQL
• ▹Mastery of SQL and query optimization
• ▹Experience developing stored procedures, triggers and database objects
• ▹Experience in data migrations and platform upgrades
• ▹Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
• ▹Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• ▹Automation with Python and Bash

Nice to have

• ▹SQL Server, TimescaleDB, Firestore / Firebase
• ▹Experience in high-availability environments
• ▹Knowledge of observability and monitoring
• ▹Experience in cloud-native architectures
• ▹Experience in DevOps methodologies and CI/CD
• ▹AWS, GCP or database certifications
