Backend Engineer / Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and develop new endpoints and the dedicated API for Danim
• ▹Ensure the interface contract (documentation, versioning, tests) with the partner and monitor the performance and quality of the exposed data
• ▹Ensure updates and reliability of the DPE and DVF data imports and pipelines
• ▹Fix data and processing anomalies and guarantee consistency between sources
• ▹Adapt processing to changes in open data sources (formats, schemas, volumes)
• ▹Optimize queries and indexes (PostgreSQL / PostGIS)
• ▹Fix security vulnerabilities (Snyk, pentests) and update dependencies
• ▹Fix bugs and technically evolve the codebase (refactoring, technical debt)
• ▹Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and tests
• ▹Provide level 3 support for production incidents
• ▹Reduce dependency on a single person (priority mission): map the architecture and produce documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment and restore procedures)
• ▹Build up skills through pair programming, cross code reviews and pairing on incidents
• ▹Identify and propose simplification work to make the codebase easier to hand over

Requirements

• ▹At least 5 years of experience in backend development or as a data scientist
• ▹Command of Kotlin and good knowledge of PostgreSQL / PostGIS
• ▹Comfortable with REST API design and processing large volumes of data
• ▹Comfortable with data pipelines: ingestion, cleaning and transformation of large volumes of data
• ▹Knowledge of Docker, GitLab CI and security best practices
• ▹Rigorous, autonomous and comfortable taking over existing code

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of Python, TypeScript / Node.js or Flutter
• ▹Experience with geospatial or real-estate data
