Senior Associate Scrum Master

At Amgen's capability center in Portugal you will be the Scrum Master of a team spread across Portugal, North America and India, facilitating agile practices, sprint planning and delivery. Working hours are 11:00 to 20:00 to support the North America team.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Use agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines to enable product delivery, continuous innovation and milestone tracking, working with product managers and technical teams
  • ▹Work with engineering and business teams to ensure the product backlog is built into a product plan of record with clear execution paths, milestones, dependencies and change management
  • ▹Communicate product status and metrics to cross-group teams, product owners, internal and external partners and executive management
  • ▹Build strong relationships with key upstream and downstream stakeholder teams and turn business, patient and customer needs into rapid deliverables
  • ▹Help drive change across Amgen to support a culture of custom software development and product management
  • ▹Stay curious about cutting-edge technology and look for new, innovative and more cost-effective ways to do business

Requirements

  • ▹Master's degree in computer science or an engineering field and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree in such a field and 3 to 5 years, OR Diploma and a minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • ▹Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Scrum Master or similar (mandatory)
  • ▹Strong understanding of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • ▹Prior experience with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and Jira Align
  • ▹Experience guiding teams through agile events and ensuring adherence to agreed practices and behaviors
  • ▹Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection and other Scrum techniques
  • ▹Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges with data
  • ▹Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to work in a cross-functional team
  • ▹Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • ▹Good understanding of DevOps and test automation processes in software delivery
  • ▹Ability to work from 11:00 to 20:00 to support the North America team

Nice to have

  • ▹Certified SAFe Practitioner
  • ▹Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • ▹Previous experience leading agile development teams using a DevOps/CI/CD pipeline to regularly release software
  • ▹Experience as a key contributor in building and enhancing enterprise-class systems through the entire SDLC
  • ▹Prior experience managing AI/cloud-based projects or initiatives
  • ▹Inquisitive in both technical and business skills to challenge existing assumptions and culture while working with business and technology owners to drive change
  • ▹Ability to drive effective teamwork, communication and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities
  • ▹Critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross-functional groups including software engineering, networking and infrastructure
