Java Engineer - Payments and Settlement Services @ING Hubs Romania

You will work on the multi-year upgrade of ING's Cash & Liquidity systems (Group Treasury), including the new Controlled Liquidity Intraday Queue (CLIQ) project. As a Java engineer you own user stories from analysis to release and support.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Work on user stories broken down from features
  • ▹Coding, unit testing and assistance with UAT
  • ▹End-to-end ownership of user stories, from analysis to release and support
  • ▹Demo to the user groups and teams
  • ▹Coordinate activities across groups for user story delivery
  • ▹Ensure user stories are delivered within the scope of ING IT Risk and that all IT risk requirements and documentation are completed
  • ▹Collaborate with teams at different locations: Bucharest, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Manila
  • ▹Participate in Scrum rituals: stand-ups, retros, refinements, reviews

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of Java development experience (Java 25)
  • ▹Understanding of or work exposure to Kafka
  • ▹Experience or knowledge of Java frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot
  • ▹Experience with CI/CD tools (any would do, the team uses Azure DevOps)
  • ▹Some experience with XML, XSL, XSD
  • ▹Experience with TDD and BDD
  • ▹Analysis skills
  • ▹Good communication skills and an appetite to receive feedback
  • ▹Experience in Scrum with a strong preference for the agile way of working
  • ▹English (advanced)

Nice to have

  • ▹Relational database development experience (Oracle)
  • ▹Experience with OTEL solutions
  • ▹Experience with containerization platforms: OpenShift, Kubernetes
  • ▹Some project experience in financial market group treasury
  • ▹Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT-related field
