Data Engineer (dbt)

At Orange Business's Lyon office you would work as a senior data engineer building and industrialising data pipelines at client sites in modern cloud environments. The role calls for dbt, Airflow and cloud data warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Design and develop end-to-end ELT/ETL data pipelines
  • ▹Structure and optimise transformation models with dbt
  • ▹Orchestrate data flows with Apache Airflow
  • ▹Integrate data from heterogeneous sources (APIs, databases, files, streaming)
  • ▹Guarantee data quality, reliability and traceability (tests, monitoring, lineage)
  • ▹Put in place DevOps good practices applied to data (CI/CD, Git, code reviews)
  • ▹Contribute to data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault)
  • ▹Support business teams in understanding and using the data

Requirements

  • ▹Engineering school degree or equivalent (Bac+5)
  • ▹At least 4 years of experience in data engineering
  • ▹Autonomy, rigour and the ability to work in a client environment
  • ▹Good interpersonal skills and a service mindset
  • ▹Fluent English (mandatory, international client environment)
  • ▹Mastery of dbt (modelling, tests, documentation, CI/CD)
  • ▹Mastery of Apache Airflow (orchestration, DAGs, dependency management)
  • ▹Advanced SQL
  • ▹Python (scripting, data manipulation)
  • ▹Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
  • ▹Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • ▹Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices

Nice to have

  • ▹Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) or Snowflake certifications
  • ▹Experience in an IT services company or consulting firm
  • ▹Experience on large-scale data projects in regulated sectors (pharma, chemicals, etc.)
