DevOps Engineer

DevOps / SRE • On-site • Full-time • Romania Bucharest, Romania

At the Allianz Technology Bucharest branch you help move a mission-critical data exchange platform from a legacy mainframe environment to a modern AWS-based cloud architecture. You focus on stability, automation and operational excellence; English and German are required.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Manage and maintain a workflow engine that transforms and routes data between internal Allianz systems and external partners
  • ▹Implement and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to improve deployment speed and reliability
  • ▹Orchestrate and support the AWS environment, including Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and network management
  • ▹Develop and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot, including new features, debugging and optimizing existing services
  • ▹Use Dynatrace for deep-dive analysis in distributed systems to ensure high performance and stability
  • ▹Act as technical owner for operational issues, coordinating with developers and external clients to ensure seamless data transfer
  • ▹Ensure all cloud-native solutions adhere to Allianz information security and compliance standards
  • ▹As the team grows, take initiative in coordinating work within the local team and act as an interface between the team and the client

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or DevOps, of which 3+ years with Java and Spring Boot
  • ▹Proficiency in English and German (at least B2) is mandatory, as the role involves direct contact with German-speaking stakeholders and clients
  • ▹Experience with AWS services, specifically Aurora, VPC, EC2, EKS (Kubernetes), S3 and RDS (or similar experience with Azure)
  • ▹Experience with Terraform for managing cloud environments
  • ▹Knowledge of Docker, Helm, Git and GitHub Actions (or Jenkins)
  • ▹Solid understanding of Java and Spring Boot for both feature development and troubleshooting/optimizing backend microservices
  • ▹Experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools
  • ▹Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Informatics, or a related field
  • ▹An adaptable professional willing to take ownership of the application's stability and lifecycle

Nice to have

  • ▹A level of seniority that allows you to understand the business context, take ownership of decisions within the team and coordinate a small team when needed
  • ▹Operational and L2 support experience: troubleshooting production issues and coordinating resolution with developers and stakeholders
  • ▹Frontend experience with Angular or other modern frontend frameworks
  • ▹Experience with Argo Workflows and infrastructure
