Materiel System Manager - Electronic Warfare Section

The Swedish Armed Forces are looking for a materiel system manager for the electronic warfare section, working on maintenance, design, development and procurement of electronic warfare systems. Location is Enköping; permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Exercise technical design responsibility for the assigned areas: approved design must meet legal, performance, functional, information-security and system-security requirements over the whole lifecycle
  • ▹Ensure changes in technical systems do not negatively affect system or information security, and strive for rational coordination of measures
  • ▹Support the Technical Chief in preparing decisions on system and design management
  • ▹Produce design-governing documents, such as design rules
  • ▹Carry out system lifecycle planning
  • ▹Review design-affecting production decisions and documentation and recommend actions when needed
  • ▹Carry out configuration management on included products
  • ▹Handle service orders to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and industry
  • ▹Work closely with other roles such as materiel area managers, technical product representatives, IT architects and FMV product managers

Requirements

  • ▹University degree in IT, computer engineering or systems science, or experience the employer deems equivalent
  • ▹Relevant experience of system responsibility, preferably in a government agency or larger organization
  • ▹Good ability to structure and plan work and take initiative
  • ▹Very good communication in Swedish and good communication in English, spoken and written
  • ▹Experience with materiel handovers within the Armed Forces and/or FMV
  • ▹At least 5 years of experience from the defence industry, the Armed Forces or FMV
  • ▹At least 5 years of work experience in command and control systems: systems engineering, system development, system procurement, operations and management, project management, leading staff
  • ▹B driving licence
  • ▹Swedish citizenship is usually required; security vetting before employment

Nice to have

  • ▹Engineering degree or similar post-secondary education (3-5 years)
  • ▹Several years of experience with electronic warfare systems
  • ▹Experience managing systems in large organizations
  • ▹Experience in budgeting and financial follow-up
  • ▹Methodological skills and experience with process-oriented work (e.g. ITIL, SAFe)
  • ▹Knowledge of and experience with integrated logistics support (ILS)
  • ▹Several years of experience in system security work and configuration management
  • ▹System security training
