IT System Engineer - Storage

Responsibilities

• ▹Operate, administer and further develop the storage infrastructure, including NetApp storage systems (ONTAP, Clustered ONTAP), Ceph storage clusters and object storage solutions (e.g. S3-compatible)
• ▹Analyze, classify and resolve system faults and performance problems to ensure high availability, data security and compliance
• ▹Optimize and automate existing technologies and processes, using Ansible, PowerShell or Bash among others
• ▹Collaborate globally in the service area as the technical contact for internal departments and national and international customers
• ▹Develop new storage concepts and technologies from idea to successful implementation (capacity planning, performance analysis and optimization)
• ▹After onboarding and gaining experience, support the planning, steering and delivery of technical projects and requirements

Requirements

• ▹Experience administering IT system landscapes, ideally with a focus on storage systems (file, block, object)
• ▹Completed IT vocational training, an IT degree or a comparable qualification
• ▹Confident communication in German and English, written and spoken
• ▹Willingness to work shifts
• ▹A security clearance under the Security Clearance Act (level Ü2) is required; this means disclosing citizenships and certain ties abroad

Nice to have

• ▹Scripting experience (e.g. Ansible, Bash, PowerShell or Python)
