Senior Data Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Own and continuously improve the data platform on AWS and Snowflake: reliability, performance, scalability
• ▹Strengthen platform performance, security, secrets management and observability
• ▹Own cost efficiency: track and optimize Snowflake and AWS spend and lead FinOps practices
• ▹Advance data governance: data ownership, access and PII controls, lineage and audit readiness in line with GDPR
• ▹Define and uphold engineering standards for testing, versioning, code reviews, CI/CD and Git-based workflows
• ▹Own the integration layer connecting internal and third-party data sources
• ▹Lead the response to data platform incidents through to a durable fix
• ▹Work with DevOps on requirements and review of the underlying infrastructure
• ▹Support BI Engineers, Analysts and Data Scientists with a well-governed, well-documented, self-serve platform

Requirements

• ▹Strong hands-on experience running and improving a cloud data platform on AWS and Snowflake
• ▹Solid grasp of cloud infrastructure, security and cost management, enough to set requirements and assess solutions alongside DevOps
• ▹Practical experience with data governance, access control and PII management
• ▹Experience in a regulated setting such as finance, banking or AML/KYC
• ▹Fluent spoken and written English

Nice to have

• ▹Track record with cloud cost optimization and FinOps
• ▹Familiarity with modern table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake)
• ▹Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
