German Speaking Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design scalable, cloud-native data architectures on Databricks or MS Fabric
• ▹Build data models, schemas and storage patterns (lakehouse, Delta, Parquet)
• ▹Design batch and streaming data ingestion pipelines
• ▹Define ETL/ELT processes and the transformation strategy
• ▹Implement data governance, data lineage and metadata management solutions
• ▹Optimize performance, cost and resource usage
• ▹Set up monitoring, alerting and operational runbooks
• ▹Work with data architects, data analysts and business stakeholders

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience with cloud data platforms: MS Fabric or Databricks
• ▹Strong data engineering experience: SQL, Python, PySpark, ETL/ELT design
• ▹Strong experience in data modeling: dimensional, normalized and lakehouse patterns
• ▹Experience with orchestration and CI/CD tools: Airflow, Azure Data Factory, GitOps pipelines
• ▹Experience in performance and cost optimization (query optimization, cluster sizing)
• ▹Initial experience with streaming and messaging solutions: Kafka, Event Hubs or similar
• ▹Relevant experience in data visualization, for example building Power BI dashboards
• ▹Confident German language skills
