Software Engineer - Java Platform

Responsibilities

• ▹Build next-generation systems that make using Java safe, efficient and secure
• ▹Provide a consistent, high-performance platform for Snowflake engineers
• ▹Identify performance and availability issues, implement solutions and instrument key components
• ▹Collaborate with global teams on large-scale data infrastructure challenges
• ▹Continuously improve Java infrastructure reliability and performance through monitoring and automation

Requirements

• ▹Experience building, supporting and troubleshooting complex Java systems
• ▹Understanding of Java fundamentals, including the JVM and core libraries
• ▹Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
• ▹Eagerness to learn JVM internals and performance tuning

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with multi-threading, concurrency and caching
• ▹Knowledge of database or Linux internals
• ▹Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems
