Sezzle is looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and scale the platform's infrastructure, focusing on the hardest problems in throughput, latency, capacity, and resilience.

Responsibilities

▹Design, build, operate, and scale the infrastructure powering Sezzle's platform
▹Increase throughput, reduce latency, remove capacity bottlenecks, and strengthen resilience
▹Own complex technical initiatives from architecture and prototyping through production rollout and ongoing operation
▹Write code and infrastructure-as-code, debug production systems
▹Participate in on-call rotation and take a hands-on role in recovering from major incidents, including full outages
▹Form and test hypotheses using logs, metrics, and traces, making mitigation decisions under incomplete information
▹Turn incident findings into lasting engineering fixes
▹Build and apply AI-assisted infrastructure and SRE tooling for incident investigation, capacity analysis, and runbook automation

Requirements

▹12+ years of experience
▹Deep knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes-orchestrated workloads, and Aurora RDS (MySQL and Postgres)
▹Comfort moving between cloud architecture, networking, cluster internals, database performance, and application behavior
▹Experience writing code and infrastructure-as-code, debugging production systems
