The Essen site is hiring a C++ software developer for its "Internal Security" division, working on document verification, biometrics and cryptography solutions in a border-control context.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conceive sophisticated solutions in the "Internal Security" division within a border-control context
  • Work on document verification, biometrics and cryptography
  • Tech stack: Windows 10/11, C++, Visual Studio, Git, CMake, Conan
  • Build new software components and maintain/troubleshoot existing software
  • Integrate hardware such as fingerprint scanners and passport readers
  • Integrate third-party software, e.g. for biometric checks and quality assessment
  • Implement national and international standards

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science or a comparable field
  • Very good skills in modern C++ software development
  • Good knowledge of designing and implementing solid, maintainable software solutions
  • Strong quality mindset, using measures such as unit tests
  • Solid experience with agentic coding
  • Business-fluent German and English
  • Experience with an IDE such as Visual Studio or CLion
  • Analytical thinking and independent, responsible way of working
