Software Engineer – Software Tools & Automation (for Airbus Defence and Space)

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop, implement and test high-performance C++ applications and libraries (C++17+)
• ▹Develop and maintain cross-platform software for Unix and Windows environments
• ▹Manage CMake-based build systems and optimize development workflows
• ▹Work with cross-functional teams to define and integrate system components
• ▹Contribute to simulation tools and frameworks
• ▹Implement and integrate gRPC-based communication between distributed services
• ▹Contribute to architecture decisions and code reviews

Requirements

• ▹Degree in computer science, software engineering or comparable qualification
• ▹Experience in system architecture, software design, simulation development, gRPC and Protocol Buffers
• ▹Knowledge of multithreading, networking and system design
• ▹Strong programming and problem-solving skills, high technical precision
• ▹Business-fluent English; German is a plus
• ▹Knowledge of C++, C++17, CMake, Unix/Linux, Git, CI/CD

Nice to have

• ▹German language skills
• ▹Interest/knowledge in AI/ML integration and MCP
