Site Reliability Engineer - Observability
N26, a fully cloud-hosted digital bank, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Observability group within the Platform Engineering domain. The team provides end-to-end, easy-to-use observability for infrastructure, microservices and unique workloads. You will build tools for monitoring and measuring systems, put developer experience at the forefront, and help understand and prevent incidents through tooling, automation and people-centered processes.
Responsibilities
- ▹Build tools for monitoring and measuring infrastructure, microservices and unique workloads
- ▹Put developer experience at the front of your implementations
- ▹Contribute to understanding and preventing incidents through tooling, automation and people-centered processes
- ▹Use automation to speed up repetitive tasks and improve the security and compliance of the tech stack
- ▹Help colleagues understand observability data so they can measure, monitor and recover quickly from incidents
- ▹Define and manage the entire environment from provisioning to deployment as code
Requirements
- ▹Understanding of the basic building blocks of observability: metrics, logs and traces
- ▹Experience with tools to extract data (Prometheus, StatsD, OpenTelemetry libraries), transform data (Vector, Beats, FluentBit) and load data (OpenSearch, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
- ▹Solid skills with at least one glue language such as Go or Python
- ▹Ability to build in a cloud-only environment with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and AWS CDK
- ▹Strong command of Linux
- ▹A strong desire to learn and improve, even if you don't meet 100% of the criteria
