Staff Backend Software Engineer - Remote (Portugal)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design solutions, steer and review AI-generated code, review others' contributions
• ▹Architect context pipelines for AI agents (repo boundaries, domain knowledge, test outputs, CI feedback)
• ▹Write agent-actionable task specifications
• ▹Mentor engineers, influence across teams and align strategically

Requirements

• ▹Use agentic workflows (Claude Code, Cursor Agent or equivalent) as a default
• ▹Context engineering practice: repo structure, CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md configs, memory, tool access
• ▹Understanding of model routing trade-offs (Haiku vs. Sonnet vs. Opus) and multi-agent orchestration
• ▹Strong coding and Computer Science fundamentals
• ▹Strong background in Golang, Java/Kotlin (preferred), able to work with PHP
• ▹Experience with large-scale web applications
• ▹Deep expertise in scalable distributed systems, CI/CD, REST and GraphQL APIs, AWS, relational and NoSQL databases
• ▹Clear communication in English across engineering, product and leadership
