Responsibilities

• ▹Work closely with Product and Engineering to understand user needs, explore solutions and contribute to product and technical discussions with your own perspective
• ▹Take ownership of the problems you work on: understand why they matter to users, do your own research, propose solutions and drive implementation with support from teammates
• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to keep projects moving efficiently and deliver on time
• ▹Develop pixel-perfect designs in partnership with the Design team
• ▹Build simple, clean, testable and reliable code across the stack
• ▹Continuously learn how different parts of Edpuzzle's software work, why they were built that way and where they can be improved
• ▹Make effective use of available tools, including AI where appropriate, to learn faster and work more effectively while maintaining strong judgment and high standards
• ▹Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• ▹Write technical documentation that helps others understand decisions, systems and implementation details
• ▹Contribute wherever needed to help the team deliver

Requirements

• ▹3 to 5 years of professional experience in frontend, backend or full-stack development
• ▹Experience writing well-tested JavaScript/TypeScript code and delivering features end-to-end in real-world systems
• ▹Strong experience building complex interactive UIs in React and developing backend systems in Node.js, ideally in high-traffic environments
• ▹Comfortable working across the stack; if not already full-stack, aiming to get there
• ▹Product-oriented: technical decisions made with the final user in mind, solving the right problems
• ▹Pragmatic with technology: tech is a means to solve product problems, never the end goal
• ▹Responsible use of AI and other modern tools, never as a substitute for understanding, judgment or ownership
• ▹Avid learner who asks thoughtful questions, challenges assumptions and looks for better ways to solve problems
• ▹Ownership and autonomy, good time management and flexibility when priorities change
• ▹Clear communication, adapted to the audience
• ▹Comfortable in spoken Spanish and written English, the main languages of day-to-day engineering
• ▹Based in Spain with a work permit for Spain

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in startup or scaleup environments and cross-functional teams
• ▹Experience navigating ambiguous environments and contributing beyond pure implementation
• ▹Experience with Redux for client state management
• ▹Experience with Express.js and MongoDB
• ▹Experience with complex backend architectures such as Hexagonal Architecture and Domain Driven Design (DDD)
