Responsibilities

• ▹Parallelize and optimize accounting and financial calculations using Apache Spark
• ▹Develop and maintain backend REST web services
• ▹Integrate applications through predefined interface and contract agreements
• ▹Manage and improve batch-based data processing workflows
• ▹Optimize data orchestration processes with a focus on performance and stability
• ▹Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and production rollout
• ▹Support DevOps automation and continuous deployment practices
• ▹Collaborate with global teams across Budapest, London, New York, Montreal and India

Requirements

• ▹Strong development experience with Java, preferably Spring
• ▹Experience with Scala or a comparable programming language
• ▹Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or DB2
• ▹Experience with Big Data technologies or repositories such as Hadoop or MongoDB
• ▹Understanding of modern SDLC methodologies and Agile practices
• ▹Strong written and verbal communication skills
• ▹Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with UNIX/Linux application debugging
• ▹Experience with DevOps automation tools and scripting, such as AutoSys, UNIX Shell, Perl or Python
• ▹Previous experience in finance, accounting or banking
• ▹Knowledge of business reporting, data science or data processing concepts
