Infrastructure/Platform Engineer

At BWI, the Bundeswehr's digitalization partner, you support building and running Kubernetes infrastructure for air-gapped environments and help set up a container-based edge computing product. Possible at any BWI site.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Support the build-out and operation of a Kubernetes infrastructure in the data centers for air-gapped environments and ensure scalability and security
  • ▹Infrastructure as code and automation
  • ▹Support the build of a container-based edge computing environment as a product
  • ▹Communicate with stakeholders and other teams
  • ▹Work as a member of an agile team
  • ▹Record results and progress through careful technical documentation

Requirements

  • ▹Completed relevant university degree or comparable qualification and at least 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • ▹Good knowledge of Linux and Linux hardening, automation, virtualization and infrastructure
  • ▹Experience with network storage (e.g. ceph), Kubernetes (ideally at CKA/CKS level) and Nix/NixOS
  • ▹Fluent German and good English
  • ▹Basic willingness to travel

Nice to have

  • ▹Knowledge of the Go programming language
