Job Title: Senior Director - Data, AI & Infrastructure Procurement
Job Purpose:
Global Procurement supports the ambitions of GSK by leading procurement initiatives on behalf of GSK business units and operations, enabling the delivery of our products through the entire procurement to pay cycle to the end customer - our patients and consumers.
The role will have responsibility for specific categories within Digital & Technology, specifically Data, AI & Infrastructure category and reports into the VP, Digital & Tech Procurement. The role partners with senior stakeholders within the Tech organisation, is part of the Tech Procurement Leadership Team and covers circa £300M in spend.
Additionally, the role:
Builds and delivers Strategic Sourcing strategies that deliver the highest quality service and supply while significantly impacting cost savings across business units or supply network
Plans, oversees and leads high value, long-term, complex negotiations in areas of spend that significantly impact the success or failure of a GSK business unit
Understands and business partners the customer group in order to deliver relevant strategic procurement solutions
Leads, manages and to facilitate delivery of the primary role purpose described above.
The candidate has high cultural awareness required to lead, manage and develop a team of procurement leaders responsible for multiple strategic categories of spend, located globally, to facilitate the delivery of the primary role purpose described above:
Direct reports, indirect reports, matrix reports
Developing capability of staff, technical, leadership and behaviours
Leading improvements in team performance
Responsibilities:
Manage a spend around £300m by creating comprehensive global category strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset
Have a clear understanding of how global strategies affect other categories, business units and regions and build the appropriate education & communication process
Create compelling business cases for change and obtain approval to execute from GSK Digital & Tech and/or other support functions (Finance, HR) senior management, and to agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted
Deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost and innovation
Lead complex negotiation with Tech suppliers that will allow GSK to maximise opportunity globally
Build strategic relationships with a network of senior Tech global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align category strategies accordingly.
Build strategic relationships with key suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships
Lead and direct category teams within scope of responsibility
Build the organizational capabilities necessary to implement GSK strategy, now and in the future.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in supply chain, Business or Finance.
Experience in procurement.
Experience developing and delivering multi‑year business strategies to achieve commercial objectives and competitive advantage.
Experience managing the delivery of multiple large projects using project and change management skills
Experience assessing business value, business priorities, implementation risks, and market drivers to inform category strategies and business decision‑making.
Experience influencing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders globally, while managing supplier relationships and assessing external market dynamics to support business objectives.
Experience applying analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in professional environments.
Experience applying negotiation and conflict resolution techniques.
