Business Intelligence Analyst

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build data models in SQL with a focus on correctness, clarity and reusability
• ▹Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track key business metrics and inform decision-making across the company
• ▹Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer high-priority business questions
• ▹Collaborate with teams across Carrot to understand their data domains, reporting needs and success metrics
• ▹Contribute to data quality, documentation and self-service BI capabilities as the function scales

Requirements

• ▹A Bachelor's Degree
• ▹Intermediate-to-advanced SQL experience: ability to write advanced queries using joins, common table expressions and window functions
• ▹Experience with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Looker, DOMO or Power BI)
• ▹Basic statistics proficiency: experiment design, hypothesis testing, statistical significance, probability and distributions
• ▹Ability to translate business intelligence needs from a variety of stakeholders into technical execution and clear presentation
• ▹Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences

Nice to have

• ▹Experience using dbt to transform, test and document data
• ▹Experience working with healthcare industry data or in other complex, regulated data environments
• ▹Experience in a high-growth environment
• ▹Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred)
• ▹Understanding of effective data modeling strategies and implementations
