Senior Backend Engineer, AI Orchestration

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build execution primitives for AI workflows in the Kestra engine
• ▹Build and maintain plugins connecting Kestra to LLM providers and agent frameworks
• ▹Turn real agent use cases into reusable blueprints with the product team
• ▹Keep AI executions observable and debuggable to the standard of the rest of Kestra

Requirements

• ▹Strong Java background, having built and maintained production Java systems
• ▹Hands-on experience with LangChain4j or a comparable Java agent framework
• ▹Clear mental model of how agentic systems run: tool calls, state, retries, failure modes
• ▹Comfort working close to an orchestration engine where correctness matters more than demos

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building AI systems in Python (or TypeScript via LangChain.js) with a solid Java background
• ▹Experience running AI in production and learning from outages
