Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Identity International)

Responsibilities

• ▹Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale
• ▹Collaborate with product management, design and analytics
• ▹Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes
• ▹Own the team's operations and availability (monitoring, on-call rotations, playbooks, alerting)
• ▹Set code review and design standards, advocating for them via writing and tech talks
• ▹Develop team members through feedback, guidance and mentoring

Requirements

• ▹8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale (Python or Kotlin)
• ▹Extensive track record building highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes)
• ▹Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating functionality, via a defined technical and execution plan
• ▹Writes high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others
• ▹Comfortable moving from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with a global engineering team
