Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Own backend solutions end to end: design, build, test, deploy, and run in production
• ▹Design and evolve services for performance, scale, resilience, and data integrity
• ▹Make clear technical decisions with full understanding of constraints and trade-offs
• ▹Keep code and systems maintainable as products and requirements evolve
• ▹Diagnose difficult production problems, address root causes, prevent recurrence
• ▹Work closely with product and engineering colleagues on durable solutions
• ▹Review work critically, share knowledge, raise the engineering standard

Requirements

• ▹Proven ownership of backend services within a microservices architecture
• ▹Strong grasp of communication protocols such as HTTP, WebSockets, and AMQP
• ▹Production fluency in at least one modern backend framework
• ▹Deep knowledge of relational databases: indexing, transactions, isolation levels, locking
• ▹Track record of designing systems for high availability, scalability, and resilience
• ▹Clear, structured problem-solving and ability to explain technical decisions
• ▹Strong engineering fundamentals, sound judgement, confidence learning new technologies
