Senior Growth Engineer (Fullstack TS/Vue/Node.js)

As a Senior Engineer on n8n's Growth team, you ideate, build, and iterate on the product experiences that turn users into successful, long-term customers. You own high-impact parts of the Cloud journey, from signup and onboarding to billing, upgrade flows, and in-product experience, using experimentation, product intuition, and data to improve activation, retention, and monetization. This is a hands-on engineering role on a high-leverage team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and A/B test high-impact experiments to increase conversion and retention (upgrade flows, contextual prompts, pricing nudges)
  • Drive measurable business outcomes tied to ARR, user retention, and growth KPIs, tracking performance and shipping iteratively
  • Build and optimize growth systems such as in-app messaging, billing systems, and email orchestration tools
  • Take ownership of growth-critical flows like signup, onboarding, and the admin dashboard
  • Personalize onboarding based on initial interactions to get more users to first success
  • Test AI credit metering and its UI, including usage limits, paywalls, and upgrade nudges
  • Build experimentation infrastructure

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and Vue or React (plus HTML/CSS/UI libraries)
  • Ownership of growth metrics such as product activation, retention, or revenue on a growth or PLG team at a SaaS company
  • Experience shipping experiments yourself, from hypothesis to ship/kill decision
  • Product mindedness: able to ship without a PM and talk to users when signal is needed
  • Data fluency: able to query data yourself and make decisions from user behaviour and experiments
  • Comfort with ambiguity, moving forward and iterating without perfect specs
  • A speed and ownership mindset, moving fast but responsibly

  • Exposure to pricing strategy, funnel optimization, or revenue KPIs
  • Past experience as a founder or early-stage startup engineer
