VirtusLab, a leading European software consulting and engineering company, is hiring a software engineer to own the Data Quality area on a large data processing platform, improving the quality of data delivered to clients.

Stack

BigQuery GCP Java Kafka Kotlin Kubernetes Python Snowflake Spring SQL

Responsibilities

▹Identify, analyze, and eliminate data quality issues
▹Build solutions to reduce recurrence of data quality problems
▹Design offline mechanisms that avoid affecting production performance
▹Reduce the existing data quality backlog and build proactive detection
▹Build own remediation tooling and checks, not just run queries

Requirements

▹Expert Java, advanced Kotlin, advanced Spring Boot
▹Advanced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge
▹Knowledge of BigQuery, Apache Beam, Kafka, Kubernetes
▹Basic data quality experience
▹Strong SQL skills and genuine curiosity about data
▹Ownership and autonomy in ambiguous situations
▹Fluent English, direct work with the US team

Nice to have

▹Basic Python
▹Basic Bigtable knowledge
▹Basic anomaly detection ML knowledge
▹Basic testing skills
▹Basic Snowflake knowledge
