FYUL is hiring a Principal Engineer to act as Architect for the Merchant Experience team, defining the platform's future architecture and technical direction across a stack including PHP/Symfony, TypeScript/NestJS, Angular/Vue, PostgreSQL, and AWS/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

▹Own architecture and technical decisions for Merchant Experience pillar
▹Review and prepare architectural/design documentation
▹Contribute to engineering-wide strategy via Architecture Council
▹Guide teams through implementation with POCs and design details
▹Investigate and solve architecture-related problems (performance, scalability)
▹Mentor team members on design techniques and coding standards
▹Drive adoption of cohesive architecture practices across teams

Requirements

▹10+ years in software engineering, including Staff/Principal/Architect roles
▹Expert-level understanding of Domain-Driven Design and Microservices
▹Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
▹Solid understanding of software fundamentals
▹Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
▹Excellent written and spoken English

Nice to have

▹Expert-level PHP knowledge
▹Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
▹Understanding of front-end technologies
