Senior iOS Software Engineer - London
Proton, the privacy-first company founded in 2014 by CERN scientists, is hiring a Senior iOS Software Engineer for its London office. You would join one of several high-impact product teams across Proton Mail, Proton Drive, Proton Wallet/Payments, and Proton Account, building privacy-first products used by millions. The work spans secure communication, encrypted cloud storage, and the future of private financial tools on Apple platforms.
Responsibilities
- ▹Build and ship high-quality experiences on Apple platforms
- ▹Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineers across Proton
- ▹Help define quality standards for privacy-focused consumer products at scale
- ▹Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar within the team
Requirements
- ▹Extensive experience building and shipping high-quality iOS applications
- ▹Strong experience building maintainable, scalable, and testable mobile architectures
- ▹Comfortable working across large codebases and collaborating across multiple teams
- ▹Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar
- ▹Strong understanding of performance, concurrency, and mobile memory management
- ▹Care deeply about product quality, usability, and user experience
- ▹Comfortable navigating ambiguity and contributing to product and technical discussions
Nice to have
- ▹Experience with privacy, security, encryption, sync systems, or offline-first architectures
