Senior DevOps Engineer

DevOps / SRE • Senior • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Paris +1

Proton is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for the team that builds, maintains and scales the developer tooling platform and infrastructure relied on daily by hundreds of engineers, across both on-premises and cloud environments. Security is a core design constraint, not an afterthought. The work spans CI/CD infrastructure handling tens of thousands of jobs daily, GitOps workflows built on ArgoCD and supply chain security. The Paris base salary range is EUR 51,000 to 76,000 gross annually; the role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Own and scale CI/CD infrastructure handling tens of thousands of jobs daily: capacity planning, runner architecture and platform reliability under shifting load patterns
  • Deepen GitOps workflows built on ArgoCD, from operational improvements to structural work on managing cluster state across environments
  • Advance the supply chain security posture, building on investments in SAST and artifact attestation
  • Troubleshoot hard infrastructure problems across network, application and system layers

Requirements

  • Strong Kubernetes experience, including tuning and troubleshooting on-prem Linux systems under real load
  • Hands-on CI/CD background
  • GitOps in practice, ideally with ArgoCD
  • Software development skills in Python, Golang or Rust, enough to build and maintain tooling, not just configure it
  • Configuration management experience with Ansible and/or Terraform
  • A security mindset grounded in DevSecOps practices
  • Communication skills to work effectively across teams and document work clearly

Nice to have

  • GitLab CI experience
  • Supply chain security experience
