Responsibilities

• ▹Lead a team of full stack and AI/ML engineers: coaching, regular 1:1s, growth plans and hiring, while shipping product every week
• ▹Own the delivery and technical quality of the team's roadmap, working closely with the Product Manager to plan, de-risk and execute
• ▹Contribute hands-on across the TypeScript stack (React + Node), from designing features to reviewing pull requests and tackling hard problems
• ▹Raise the team's technical bar through code reviews, architectural guidance and best practices, including driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows
• ▹Partner with engineering leadership on team topology, processes and the technical direction of the platform

Requirements

• ▹Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex, scalable web applications
• ▹Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js and React, and the ability to reason about the entire stack from the database to the browser, used daily
• ▹Leadership experience, whether as an Engineering Manager or team lead with direct reports, or as a senior tech lead who has mentored engineers, led projects and shaped how a team works
• ▹A genuine desire to keep coding: the role is 60-80% hands-on by design
• ▹A passion for growing people: helping engineers develop, giving honest feedback and building a healthy, high-performing team
• ▹Excellent communication skills in English, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have

• ▹A good understanding of building LLM-based applications or ML algorithms, to follow the work of the AI/ML engineers (you don't need to be the expert)
