
Python Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems
Canonical is hiring a Python Engineering Manager for its Commercial Systems unit, which sits at the heart of Canonical's business and where Python plays an integral role. The manager is accountable for the design and development of an internal product, holds high engineering quality standards, and continuously develops their own skills and those of their direct reports. The unit comprises six engineering teams, including the Data Governance team (working with tools such as Trino and Ranger) and the Integrations team (automating SaaS user management and onboarding data sources into the data mesh). This role is remote within the EMEA region.

Requirements
- ▹Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- ▹Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
- ▹Track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results
- ▹Experience with software development in a high-level language (Golang, Python, Java, etc.)
- ▹Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
- ▹Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
- ▹Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
Nice to have
- ▹Performance engineering and SRE experience
- ▹Experience with data governance, data engineering or data science
