Executive Search Lead - Technology

Canonical is hiring a Talent Scientist within its Talent Science team to lead on teaching senior executives how to source senior talent in the Technology industry. The team is not a recruiting function; it focuses on the science of talent and performance, providing objective, scientifically rigorous and efficient selection processes and deep analytical insights to the business. The role develops search strategy, coaches senior leaders on headhunting, drives talent analytics with SQL or Python, and conducts in-depth behavioural interviews. It is a home-based role in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a search strategy ensuring headhunted talent moves smoothly through the pipeline
  • Coach senior leadership teams to drive hiring outcomes and become expert at attracting exceptional talent
  • Drive talent analytics using SQL or Python to identify trends in data and provide real-time insight
  • Conduct in-depth behavioural talent interviews to uncover motivations and behaviours
  • Build relationships with global stakeholders and monitor hiring activities for consistency
  • Seek continuous improvement on hiring processes and outcomes
  • Champion diversity and inclusion by removing unconscious bias from the hiring process

Requirements

  • Professional headhunting experience from a reputable executive search firm or in-house search function in the Technology industry
  • Informed opinion on strategies for successfully sourcing senior talent
  • Exposure to or appreciation of psychometric assessments
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability to identify trends and patterns from data using SQL or Python
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn talent modules
  • Experience conducting behavioural, competency-based interviews and training stakeholders
  • Exceptional academic background, including a Bachelor's or Master's in Psychology or a people-based subject, and a good level of high-school Maths
  • High level of personal organisation to work remotely and be effective
  • Willingness to travel to company events 2-4 times a year, for up to two weeks each

Nice to have

  • Experience with more advanced analytical and statistical analysis to interrogate data
  • Exposure to Greenhouse ATS, Thomas International and DISC profiling
  • Knowledge of psychometric validity and reliability metrics
