Mid Backend Engineer (Portugal or United Kingdom)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and maintain backend APIs and services using C# and .NET
• ▹Work within a clean architecture and microservices-based ecosystem using use cases, repositories and domain entities
• ▹Design and implement backend workflows and REST APIs
• ▹Write maintainable, testable, production-ready code
• ▹Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• ▹Work with SQL databases, Entity Framework and transactional workflows
• ▹Collaborate with frontend engineers on multi-step workflows and API contracts

Requirements

• ▹3+ years of backend engineering experience
• ▹Strong experience with C# and .NET
• ▹Experience building REST APIs
• ▹Good understanding of clean or layered architecture
• ▹Experience with Entity Framework, SQL and relational databases
• ▹Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms and microservices-based systems
• ▹Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• ▹Fluency in English
• ▹Valid EU passport or work permit for Portugal, or UK passport/work permit if based in the UK

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in banking, fintech, CRM or onboarding platforms
• ▹Understanding of concurrency, idempotency and workflow orchestration
• ▹Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native services
