Responsibilities

• ▹Develop backend functionality for JAGGAER's hosted B2B SaaS platform based on secure-by-design principles
• ▹Work within a cross-functional team of frontend engineers, backend engineers, QA, and Product Owners
• ▹Own backend components within a large PHP monolith and contribute to continuous refactoring
• ▹Solve complex technical challenges: performance, scalability, data integrity, maintainability
• ▹Write clean, maintainable PHP code following best practices
• ▹Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• ▹Debug production issues and improve platform stability
• ▹Design and apply AI-assisted engineering workflows
• ▹Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, security, and scalability

Requirements

• ▹7+ years of professional software development experience with strong PHP expertise
• ▹Experience developing and maintaining large, long-lived PHP applications, including monolithic architectures
• ▹Strong knowledge of Symfony or similar PHP frameworks with ORM support
• ▹Strong understanding of MySQL and relational database design
• ▹Excellent OOP knowledge, SOLID principles, and design patterns
• ▹Experience with Composer and dependency management
• ▹Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
• ▹Experience structuring codebase context to improve AI code-generation reliability
• ▹Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and recommendations
• ▹Comfortable in a collaborative, international engineering environment
• ▹Strong focus on software quality and long-term maintainability
• ▹Good written and spoken English

Nice to have

• ▹Frontend experience with JavaScript, particularly Backbone.js and/or React
• ▹Experience with MongoDB
• ▹Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
