A Senior Software Engineer role in Morgan Stanley's Equity Structured Products Trading technology team, contributing to the full software development lifecycle. The engineer builds front-to-back solutions for capturing and processing complex equity derivative product data, working within a globally distributed team across New York, London, Budapest, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Perform daily hands-on software development, delivering high-quality, maintainable, efficient code
  • ▹Participate in the full SDLC: analysis, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • ▹Design, develop, and enhance applications supporting the Equity Structured Products Trading business
  • ▹Investigate production and non-production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement robust solutions
  • ▹Collaborate with traders, business analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions
  • ▹Contribute to scalable, resilient, loosely coupled distributed systems and participate in code reviews

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of software development experience using JVM-based technologies
  • ▹Experience with Scala or strong desire and aptitude to learn it
  • ▹Solid understanding of OOP, distributed systems, and modern software engineering principles
  • ▹Proven experience designing scalable, loosely coupled, interoperable systems
  • ▹Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • ▹Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience preferably in a multinational or global organization
  • ▹Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks
  • ▹Experience with production support activities
  • ▹Interest in financial markets and trading technology
