Backend Engineer - Compliance Team

Responsibilities

• ▹Build the most powerful, easy-to-use payment platform in the world
• ▹Deliver new features and enhancements to the platform
• ▹Work closely with Frontend and Mobile Engineering teams to integrate the UI
• ▹Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
• ▹Help the team stay up to date with the tech stack ecosystem
• ▹Write high quality code with performance and scalability in mind

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• ▹5+ years working as a Backend Engineer
• ▹Fluent written and spoken English
• ▹Deep experience with multiple programming languages and ecosystems, mainly JavaScript (node.js), Python, Golang, and C/C++
• ▹Strong understanding of relational (preferably PostgreSQL) and/or non-relational databases (e.g. Redis)
• ▹Strong understanding of web semantics
• ▹Knowledge of revision control systems
• ▹Basic knowledge of standard development pipelines, including build and automation tools
• ▹Excellent communication skills and a team player in cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• ▹Experience developing APIs for other products
• ▹Experience with message queues (e.g. Kafka, NSQ, Pulsar, RabbitMQ)
• ▹Experience integrating APIs from other service providers
• ▹Proven record working with performance budgets
• ▹Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts
• ▹Open source project contributions
