Staff Software Engineer - DSM

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, implement, scale and maintain backend systems processing large data volumes
• ▹Work on event-driven and API-based integrations
• ▹Contribute to migration toward a domain-based, scalable architecture
• ▹Build and optimize performance-sensitive workflows
• ▹Investigate technical problems and propose solutions with the team
• ▹Collaborate closely with data science and engineering colleagues
• ▹Participate in a shared development model

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth
• ▹Willingness to switch main language to Java, from Python, Scala, C/C++, Haskell, Elixir, Go, Ruby, etc.
• ▹Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation and event-driven architecture
• ▹Experience with big data processing tools: Spark, Apache ecosystem, Delta Lake, Parquet, Kafka, Avro
• ▹Experience with Python and/or PySpark
• ▹Experience building and maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume, low-latency systems
• ▹Experience with Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases
• ▹Experience with REST APIs and event-driven integrations
• ▹Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud providers
• ▹Pandas experience
• ▹Spring framework and microservices experience
• ▹Experience in large-scale data or analytics environments
