Associate Data Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead and grow a small data engineering team
• ▹Run agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retros
• ▹Own the team's quarterly OKRs
• ▹Design and review high-quality dbt models and pipelines on BigQuery

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with initial leadership experience (tech leading, mentoring, guiding small groups)
• ▹Production-level experience designing and reviewing dbt models and data pipelines on Google Cloud BigQuery
• ▹Expert-level SQL and strong Python scripting for pipeline orchestration (e.g. Airflow or Cloud Composer)
• ▹Practical experience running agile ways of working
• ▹Professional English skills at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• ▹Basic familiarity with Terraform to manage cloud-based data assets
• ▹Familiarity with PySpark and open table formats like Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
• ▹Experience using AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Claude in daily engineering work
