Staff Backend Engineer - Core Product (Europe)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design services, data models, pipelines and evaluation loops at the center of Kalepa's systems
• ▹Build reliable systems around fragmented but high-value data
• ▹Build an intelligence layer that supports better, faster and more explainable decisions
• ▹Drive projects to completion with minimal oversight

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of software engineering experience
• ▹Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging and problem-solving
• ▹Knowledge of Python (the main stack); strong candidates from other OO backgrounds are considered
• ▹Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows and cloud environments
• ▹Comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with LLMs and generative AI
• ▹Experience with distributed systems
