Mid/Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build a data team from scratch and help shape its direction
• ▹Work on Data Lake and Data Lakehouse projects
• ▹Work on AI-supported data migrations
• ▹Automate repetitive, routine tasks with AI so more time remains for work that truly requires thinking and decisions

Requirements

• ▹2-4 years of experience (mid level) or 4+ years (senior level)
• ▹Good knowledge of the Databricks platform
• ▹Good knowledge of SQL and Python
• ▹Knowledge of at least one database engine: Oracle, PostgreSQL or MS SQL
• ▹Solid understanding of data warehouse fundamentals: loading processes and layered architecture
• ▹Knowledge of data modeling techniques (Kimball, Data Vault)
• ▹Understanding of data testing practices and at least one tool such as dbt tests or Great Expectations
• ▹Understanding of data lineage and data cataloging concepts
• ▹Practical experience with process orchestrators such as Airflow, Dagster or dbt
• ▹Basic knowledge of Azure or AWS in the context of data processing
• ▹Ability to work with a Git repository
• ▹Ability to document the solutions you build

Nice to have

• ▹Practical dbt experience as a transformation tool (beyond just testing), plus Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB)
• ▹Basic understanding of the data products concept
• ▹Knowledge of Row Level Security and Column Level Security mechanisms and experience implementing them
• ▹Knowledge of reference standards for selected domains: BIAN (banking), ACORD (insurance), HL7/FHIR (healthcare)
