Responsibilities

• ▹Provide guidance, mentorship, and career development for a team of software engineers
• ▹Contribute to the success of the Product organization (Engineering, Product Management, Design)
• ▹Provide technical direction on projects and grow the team's technical leadership capabilities
• ▹Help grow the organization: interviewing, recruiting, developing engineering culture and processes
• ▹Achieve business outcomes through cross-functional collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and designers
• ▹Lead a team responsible for a critical production service (monitoring, alerting, on-call)
• ▹Manage healthy conflict and cultivate a positive culture of feedback
• ▹Drive planning across multiple time horizons, from tactical needs to long-term strategy

Requirements

• ▹Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams (performance evaluations, career development)
• ▹Background building and operating production services with high availability targets
• ▹Expertise managing on-call rotations and incident response
• ▹A highly technical manager able to independently evaluate complex technical tradeoffs
• ▹Experience developing in Go
• ▹Ability to give and process constructive feedback, and work independently
• ▹Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
