Responsibilities

• ▹Defines the technical vision and long-term roadmap for Feed Retrieval
• ▹Translates Feed Relevance goals into a focused team roadmap, prioritizing model quality, coverage, and reliability
• ▹Coaches and develops the team
• ▹Oversees the design, development, and optimization of retrieval systems
• ▹Establishes measurement and experimentation practices to understand retrieval quality
• ▹Collaborates with ML platform, infrastructure, ranking, and safety teams on scalable systems
• ▹Partners with recruiting to hire diverse, talented ML engineers

Requirements

• ▹2+ years leading and managing high-performing ML or recommender-systems teams
• ▹Hands-on experience with large-scale production ML systems, ideally recommender systems, embedding-based systems, sequence models, transformer architectures, or LLM-powered recommendation
• ▹Strong understanding of recommender systems, especially candidate retrieval, embedding/indexing, ranking handoffs
• ▹Strategic thinking across ambiguous problem spaces
