Software Technical Lead

Responsibilities

• ▹Serve as the primary leader for software design within embedded systems development
• ▹Own and drive the detailed design and, in many cases, the overall software architecture for embedded systems
• ▹Act as both Scrum Master and Product Owner by maintaining the software backlog and facilitating daily stand-up meetings
• ▹Assign tasks to software engineers, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to resolve challenges
• ▹Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders including the Design Project Manager, Software Architect, Technical Lead, Quality and Manufacturing
• ▹Ensure alignment between software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to meet project goals
• ▹Follow and promote the Budapest Design Center Software Development Process, adapting Agile and Scrum practices to fit the embedded context

Requirements

• ▹Proven experience in embedded software development, ideally in both the automotive and cloud/server/telecommunications sectors
• ▹Strong understanding of software-hardware integration challenges and solutions
• ▹Experience leading software teams and managing technical backlogs
• ▹Familiarity with hybrid Agile methodologies adapted for embedded systems
• ▹Excellent communication and leadership skills

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with x86-based Board Management Controller and/or BIOS implementations
• ▹Experience with test automation and hardware testing
• ▹Experience in lab work with oscilloscope, logic analyser
• ▹IREB certificate
• ▹Experience with the ASPICE development process
• ▹Experience with safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262)
• ▹Exposure to cloud-connected embedded systems or edge computing
