As a member of a global IMS team, you will take on IMS Systems Programmer tasks in both run-time and one-time activities, supporting shared services for various customers. The role requires in-depth knowledge of generating and installing an IMS system, tuning it for performance, maintaining service levels, and supporting the daily operation and administration of IMS. A strong understanding of IMS infrastructure, administration, and troubleshooting in a complex, high-availability environment is essential.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Troubleshooting and support within the IMS area
  • ▹Planning and implementation of software and management of existing systems
  • ▹Lifecycle management and further development within the IMS area
  • ▹Plan and perform Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • ▹Provide technical consultation to other areas of the company
  • ▹Plan and perform health checks and analysis
  • ▹Work on automation of tasks, checks, and issues

Requirements

  • ▹5 to 10+ years of experience as an IMS Systems Programmer
  • ▹Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • ▹Availability for on-call support as needed
  • ▹Experience with IMS performance tuning and optimization
  • ▹Very good knowledge of IMS environments and database organization
  • ▹Very good knowledge of components (DLI and DBRC)
  • ▹Define, install, and modify IMS resources (databases, programs, transactions) using DRD
  • ▹Configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment for high availability
  • ▹Knowledge of IMS Catalog and managed ACBs
  • ▹Very good knowledge of the logical data model
  • ▹z/OS skills and JCL
  • ▹IMSTOOLS, SYSVIEW, CCDC
