Solution Architect
Starschema is looking for a Solution Architect to propose, define and design high- and low-level solutions and technical architecture patterns supporting product team requirements. You will coordinate with Tech Lead, DevOps Lead, Data Engineering Lead and Data Architect to define solution architecture for new capabilities, and produce an architectural roadmap of Data Analytics capability. The role centers on Azure cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on security, scalability and high availability.
Stack
Responsibilities
- ▹Propose, define and design high- and low-level solutions and technical architecture patterns to support product team requirements
- ▹Coordinate with Tech Lead, DevOps Lead, Data Engineering Lead and Data Architect to define solution architecture for new capabilities
- ▹Attain approval for architectural designs from the D3 TDD Project Board and Architecture Review Boards
- ▹Produce an architectural roadmap of Data Analytics capability enabled over time in service of customer requirements (e.g. Azure Storage, Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, Databricks, SQL, Analysis Services, Data Factory)
- ▹Define integration patterns for the Data Catalogue, source systems and sites
- ▹Define data access mechanisms and endpoints for end-users and data consumers
- ▹Work with the DE Lead and DE Technical Lead to manage work items within the Azure DevOps backlog in line with release objectives
- ▹Keep the Anglo American Data Platform Solution Architecture pages and related Confluence material up to date
Requirements
- ▹Proven experience managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, particularly in Azure, with emphasis on security, scalability and high availability
- ▹Hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, PaaS and IaaS Platform Architecture, and Azure Platform Security
- ▹Expert knowledge of Azure Monitoring, Dashboarding and Alerting
- ▹Hands-on experience deploying apps using AKS and Azure App Services
- ▹Skilled in Azure Infrastructure (VM, AKS, etc.), AAD management and Azure Networking Services (Front Door, WAF, App Gateway, etc.)
- ▹Strong proficiency in automation tools, scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, YAML) and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g. ARM templates)
- ▹Solid understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD), identity and access management (IAM) and access management best practices
- ▹Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and sustainable solutions
- ▹Strong communication and collaboration skills with English language proficiency
Nice to have
- ▹Familiarity with cloud security best practices, compliance requirements and industry standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS)
