Software Engineer - Backend/Funds Transfer, EU/UK remote

Responsibilities

• ▹Drive epics and technical initiatives within the team, from solution conception to production-ready code
• ▹Shape the systems' architecture and technical direction by raising improvement topics
• ▹Maintain a scalable, maintainable and secure microservice architecture in line with code standards
• ▹Take part in the on-call rotation and team support effort, keeping an eye on root causes and improvement points
• ▹Share knowledge through documentation such as RFCs and ADRs, and grooming meetings when needed
• ▹Work closely with the product manager, engineering manager and frontend engineers

Requirements

• ▹Expertise in building testable, maintainable and extendable systems
• ▹Obsession with best engineering practices
• ▹Strong problem-solving skills
• ▹5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot (or relevant stack)
• ▹Proficiency with REST APIs and event-driven communication patterns
• ▹Proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• ▹Experience with AWS and Docker

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with IaC
• ▹Deep architectural experience
• ▹Experience mentoring other team members
