SIM Engineer II

Responsibilities

• ▹Support the design, validation, and maintenance of electrical profiles for SIM and eSIM products
• ▹Design and implement Java Card applets per 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards
• ▹Write and maintain technical documentation (applet and electrical profile specs, APIs, test plans)
• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mobile core network, security, IoT device and eUICC vendors)
• ▹Develop, test, and support SIM-based applications and tools
• ▹Contribute to peer review of electrical test data and reports, supporting team members' growth

Requirements

• ▹Third-level qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
• ▹3–6 years' experience in a technology organisation, preferably telecoms, with up to 3 years in SIM/eSIM/OTA R&D
• ▹Experience with Remote SIM Provisioning technologies (GSMA SGP.02, SGP.22/SGP.32)
• ▹Good knowledge of SIM/eSIM architecture and protocols (APDU, ISO 7816)
• ▹Familiarity with 3GPP/ETSI standards (e.g., TS 31.102, TS 102.221)
• ▹Experience with smart card test & trace tools (e.g., Comprion)
• ▹Understanding of secure coding practices and cryptographic protocols
• ▹Proficiency with version control (Git) and development tools
• ▹Knowledge of SIM operating systems for secure elements (e.g., MULTOS)
• ▹Experience with MNOs or handset OEMs and mobile network elements (HSS, OTA platforms)
• ▹Experience with Postman API, Java, C#, SQL, scripting
• ▹Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., DataDog, Zabbix)

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
• ▹Experience working in a Kanban model
• ▹Independent work ethic and process-improvement mindset
• ▹Ability to mentor junior colleagues and lead small project teams
