Responsibilities

• ▹Take an active role in influencing the team's roadmap and your own career objectives
• ▹Deliver new features, then iterate and improve based on results
• ▹Drive projects from initial ideation all the way to production operations
• ▹Embrace the open-source culture and contribute to projects beyond your team's direct scope
• ▹Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability
• ▹Take part in the team's on-call rotation and own the services you run
• ▹Support teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate
• ▹Learn new skills by deepening your understanding of the cloud product, customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system

Requirements

• ▹Solid experience with at least one programming language (the team uses Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, or Rust translates well)
• ▹Some experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through to shipping, in a self-driven way
• ▹Some experience developing software that runs in the cloud, or with systems engineering
• ▹Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others

Nice to have

• ▹Experience working with Kubernetes and/or Docker
• ▹Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in an operational capacity (including on-call at a previous employer or on hobby/homelab projects)
• ▹Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, with a desire to learn
• ▹Familiarity with being on-call, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code
